Distance Learning is used to train students without the need of costly on location training. They are normally conducted online and are lock-step training in nature. This means the student must complete a module of interactive training and demonstrate they know this module before moving on to the next training module. This is normally accomplished by developing a scored and tracked interactive examination with an exit criteria established by the customer. Once the student completes a module with examination, the online instructor or proctor can provide feedback to the student and assign additional classes as required.
These programs can be developed online with the customer viewing real time progress. The customer can also provide instantaneous feedback as required. This saves time and money because the customer, subject matter expert and developer can make corrections without expensive travel.
